About APT
The Association for Preservation Technology International is a multi-disciplinary, international organization that promotes best practices, whether by modern methods or the historic ones, for conserving historic structures and their settings. Members are located in 28 countries, and there are 12 chapters in North America and Australia.
The Delaware Valley Chapter covers the region surrounding Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The goal of the Delaware Valley Chapter is to encourage better quality restoration and preservation by promoting good communication between the various individuals involved in these fields. We endeavor to accomplish this is by inviting speakers to give presentations or tours that will increase each member's knowledge and understanding of proper usage of types of products and processes in the construction industry.
The Delaware Valley Chapter was formed in 1984 and now has approximately 130 members. Events are held approximately once per month. A cross-section of the membership attends events. Location varies by event.

Board Member Elections:
Board member elections will be held at the Annual Meeting, January 14, 2009.
Members may vote yes or no for the entire slate at the Annual Meeting. No votes will be taken on individual candidates. Members unable to attend may email or write to the Board prior to the annual meeting with a yes or no vote for the slate. A simple majority of the votes taken will determine the election of the slate. If the slate is not elected, a new slate may be formed and presented to the membership at the discretion of the Board.
Members up for election:
Vern began his career in 1980 working for a reputable masonry restoration firm. Therein he earned his talents as a craftsman, estimator, and foreman. Vern has maintained this reputation as President, and chief operations manager of Knapp Masonry, and personally oversees all aspects of every project. He has also garnered a reputation as a trustworthy and talented representative and hands-on craftsman with renowned Philadelphia architect's, engineers, and residential clients. He has maintained this integrity by providing Knapp Masonry's customers' with quality services. Vern also serves as a board member for the Association for the Preservation of Technology. |
Annabelle Radcliffe-Trenner is a founding Principal of Historic Building Architects, LLC, Trenton, NJ, an award winning firm specializing in historic public buildings. She was trained as a preservation architect in Scotland and then at ICCROM in Rome, before moving to the United States in 1988. She has a keen interest in the long-term planning for and the ethics of intervention on historic buildings and the adaptive use of existing buildings. Eager to educate the public, she lectures on preservation issues nationally. Completed projects include: The Factory at Historic Speedwell, Morristown; St. Bernard’s Episcopal Church, Bernardsville; The Log House at Craftsman Farms, Troy Hills; Watch Hill Chapel, Rhode Island and Burnt Coat Light Station, Swan’s Island, Maine. Current Projects include: Greenwood Gardens, Short Hills; The Castle at Felician College, Rutherford; and Saint Francis De Sales in Philadelphia. Annabelle has been actively involved in APT- DVC chapter since 2006, she is currently vice-chair and has helped to develop a new website for the Chapter. She is also a member of APTI and has written and presented papers on technical issues related to her preservation practice. She wants to continue to support APT-DVC and promote the interdisciplinary sharing of information that is at the heart of the mission of this organization. |
Dan Campbell is a registered architect with over twenty years of experience in architecture and historic preservation. He has directed projects through all phases of the architectural process including surveys, measured drawings, code compliance analysis, restoration and re-use design, construction documentation and contract administration. Dan joined John Milner Architects, Inc. in 1997. As a project architect and project manager, he specializes in the preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of historic buildings, and the design of sensitive additions to historic buildings for accessibility and code compliance and the design of new residences in traditional styles. |
Rodney Robinson has over thirty years experience practicing landscape architecture and is primarily recognized for his work in public and private gardens. His firm, Rodney Robinson Landscape Architects, Inc., enjoys a national reputation for design and historic restoration. His varied interests are reflected in a wide variety of projects that include private gardens, botanical gardens, arboreta, conservatories, and historic landscapes. Some of Rodney’s public clients include the Office of the Architect of the Capitol, Longwood Gardens, Nemours Mansion & Gardens, Chanticleer, and Gibraltar Gardens. Following his graduation from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978 with a Masters in Landscape Architecture, Rodney worked for George E. Patton, FASLA and later WRT. In 1985, Rodney was a co- founder of CLR Design, Inc., a firm whose pioneering work in habitat immersion exhibits for zoos and aquaria has been extremely influential across the country. Since founding Rodney Robinson Landscape Architects, Inc. in 1995, Rodney has focused his practice on garden design and restoration - combining the highest level of creativity and environmental stewardship with a respect for the rich landscape traditions of the past. |
