Happy Spring to all members!
As most of you are already aware, the chapter held elections for new Board members at the end of last year, and we braved some inclement weather at our Annual General Meeting in February to make the results official. We then immediately went to work assigning new committee chairs and other leadership roles, and began laying out a vision for chapter activities to come.
One overarching theme for this year's events and programming concerns connections, between our eastern and western Pennsylvania membership bases, and between APT-DVC and related organizations with similar missions. We intentionally paired eastern and western Board member co-chairs in our Membership, Programming, and Symposium committees, with the goal of strengthening the bonds across our membership region. This effort will directly impact our plans for educational programming and social events and will culminate in next year's symposium, which we hope to host simultaneously in both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
We've also initiated a series of Insider's Tours of important and current preservation projects throughout our region. These tours present an opportunity for members to experience exclusive access to work in progress at iconic historic sites. The first of these will be our Spring Social at Lemon Hill Mansion in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park, but we'll also be offering tours at Fallingwater, the Wharton Esherick Museum, and others. Keep an eye on our website and regular email and social media posts for the latest information on all of our membership programs.
We hope to see many of you at our Spring Social or at our annual Meet the Board event at Parks on Tap in July. In the meantime, enjoy the season and let's connect!
