January 2026 Newsletter
As we welcome the new year this January, the Delaware Valley Chapter of APT will also welcome new leadership and five new Board members. We thank those who are completing their terms as Director (John Evans, Jessica Stuck, and Domenic Quinn) and reflect on a year of successful events, some of which are shown above.
After six years on the Board myself, I will be stepping down as Chair, but will continue to be involved in the role of Chair Emeritus. Justin Spivey, longtime member and until now the vice chair, will assume the duties of Chair effective as of the Annual General Meeting on February 18 at Triple Bottom Brewing in Philadelphia; RSVP here. That meeting will also begin the terms of the five new Board members to be elected by the full chapter membership. Polls are open now in the members-only area of the chapter website; please log in and vote by February 5.
My time at APT-DVC has been a chance not only to meet and get to know the key players in the local preservation community, but was an opportunity for me to "give back" to a group that supports and strengthens the important field of preservation technology.
When I look back on the last six years, I am proud to have played a part in the planning of three symposia, numerous tours and webinars, and of course a significant number of social events where our members made important networking connections and celebrated our shared interests.
We have a strong chapter, with a solid history, as demonstrated by the DVC NEXT 40 celebration in 2024. The current effort to establish future goals of the chapter is being led by a strategic planning task force. The outcome of this exercise should be shared with the full membership by the end of this year. I have full confidence in Justin's leadership, along with other Board members, both existing and new, to carry the mission forward in a manner that lives up to the standards we've become accustomed to since the chapter was formed in 1984.
I appreciate the opportunity to have done my small part in that regard.
Happy New Year
Charles DiSanto, Chair Emeritus
